This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate/Special Counsel to join the Public Sector Corporate team of a top-tier national firm's Canberra office.
You will be working in a busy two-partner practice with a diverse range of clients, including government agencies and private sector entities. You will work on complex legal transactions, supervise other lawyers and second-counsel advice. The firm is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated team player who will help grow the practice.
This busy and varied senior role will see you have the opportunity to advise on a broad range of high profile, complex and sensitive ICT and services outsourcing projects. You will be advising on a wide range of commercial, contracting, procurement, corporate and probity matters.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- experience as a Senior Associate 4+ years
- proven experience in public sector procurement and contracting, preferably with experience in complex ICT transactions
- exceptional technical skills
- a collaborative team approach
- superior written and verbal expression skills and an aptitude for reshaping and expressing complex concepts in a concise way
- a naturally collegiate mindset which prioritises respect for peers and collaborative working
In addition, the firm is seeking a resilient, self-starter -- someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing outstanding service to the firm's clients.
