About The Role
Our client, a leading international law firm is looking to grow its' Melbourne TMT practice. This is an amazing opportunity for a driven Senior Associate with a passion for cyber security and privacy law to really fast track their career. This role requires someone who has broad experience across cyber/information and incident response, emerging technologies (including blockchain and AI solutions) and technology transactions.
On a day to day basis, you will be advising this firm's clients across Australia and the Asia Pacific on data security, cyber incidents, cyber resilience and technology transactions.
This role is all about growth and you will have the ability and autonomy to business develop and grow this practice. This is an area of the law that our client is very keen to develop further.
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with:
- 5+ years private practice legal experience or similar experience in TMT - advising on data security, cyber and/or technology transactions;
- A genuine interest in TMT and the intertwining of emerging technologies, the digital economy and the law;
- An understanding of law firm profitability and key drivers for financial efficiency as well as ability to manage costs and budgets; and
- Advanced legal skills, in particular, complex drafting, negotiation and project management skills, good people management and business skills.
