A global food and drink retail brand is looking to hire a legal counsel on a 12 month contract, supporting with general commercial, technology and GDPR matters. Reporting the Legal Director for EMEA, this is a great opportunity for junior lawyer to gain fantastic in-house experience within a friendly and high calibre Team.
This job contributes to the business's success by providing timely and effective legal support to lawyers in the Law and Corporate Affairs department. Models and acts in accordance with the company's guiding principles.
Ability to conduct medium to high value contracts with minimal supervision.
Assists more senior team members with complex contractual matters e.g. general goods and services, SCO, distribution, manufacturing
Provide ad hoc commercial advice across a range of general commercial matters
Acts as primary support to EMEA director in the rollout of new technology to licensees.
Assist in the negotiation of complex vendor contracts and statements of works
Influencing key stakeholders in relation to strategy
Ability to advise on day to day ad hoc queries in relation to data privacy,
Assist in the implementation of data privacy compliance framework across EMEA Licensees
Negotiating and drafting data privacy agreements .
Required to work with key stakeholders across digital, technology and the global privacy teams.
Reviewing, amending and negotiating terms and conditions for supply of goods
Answering ad hoc queries concerning the company's supply chain
Training Sourcing team on legal processes
Developing relationship with key stakeholders within the Sourcing team
Assisting more senior team members in rollout of strategic processes
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Educated to degree level in law
Qualified solicitor with approx 3 years PQE
In-house corporate legal department experience preferred
Experience of a franchised/ licensed business model desirable
Familiarity with contract law, technology, the GDPR, cybersecurity
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Legal drafting skills
Strong written communications skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to deal effectively with conflicts
Ability to follow through on commitments and projects
