Our client is one of the world's leading offshore law firms, with offices across the Channel Islands, Caribbean, and key financial hubs across the globe. As a result of the prominence of the Channel Islands within the global business eco-system, there is an interesting and varied mix of data protection work on the islands.
The partners are now looking for an ambitious associate to join their highly regarded privacy team in Guernsey. The team supports other practice groups across the firm in order to provide relevant data protection advice in the context of transactions and disputes, as well as standalone guidance to the firm's international client base.
In addition to exposure to top quality work for a range of high profile clients, the successful candidate will be part of a small team where they work closely with the partners and develop their own careers. In addition to the many professional advantages to this experience, you will also benefit from a lower tax rate and great island lifestyle.
To be considered for this position you will:
- Be a UK qualified solicitor, with approximately 4-8 years' post qualification experience;
- Have demonstrable expertise in data protection issues including some / all of the following: GDPR compliance and implementation; privacy and internal policies; data processor engagement; cookies; data breach incidents; direct marketing and e-privacy; data protection audits; gap analysis.
