A leading Banking organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel in London on a 12 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collegiate legal team, whilst making a valuable contribution to the successful functioning of the organisation.
The role will involve providing legal support, with the purpose of mitigating risks, in connection with (i) financial transactions originated by the business areas, (ii) analysis and structuring of new products and services, (iii) analysis of corporate projects, (iv) operational and Human Resource matters, (v) the activities of the bank in general.
Duties will include:
To provide in-house legal advice to business areas, specifically to analyse, and identify risks with reference to:
- Bilateral and syndicated credit agreements;
- Guarantees and securities agreements;
- Trade finance and documentary credits
- ISDA and other derivatives master agreements,
- Derivative confirmations,
- Structured notes.
- Analyse legislation which impacts the bank's activities; and
- Coordinate and/or participate in projects of the bank in which the department is involved.
You will be qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales with at least 5 years PQE. Recent banking and financing experience in the London Market is essential, as is a knowledge of financial products. You must have the ability to draft and vet complex documentation under English law . You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, acting with a degree of independence whilst being part of a supportive and collegiate culture. You must have the flexibility and drive to support a multidisciplinary team with a commercial outlook.
